Habitat for Humanity’s
Women Build program
engages, mobilizes, trains
and empowers women.
While men aren't excluded,
the program strives to
create an inclusive and
collaborative atmosphere
specifically for women to
help themselves and their
neighbors improve their
living conditions.

Habitat for Humanity’s Women Build program leverages its
resources and strategic partnerships to equip women to serve
in their communities, enabling them to address local affordable
homeownership challenges.

The program provides opportunities for women volunteers to participate in homebuilding and repair activities
to help build stronger, safer communities.

Women Build provides comfortable environments and
opportunities for women to take proactive steps in serving their
communities.

Our volunteers gain knowledge and skills they can use
to repair and maintain their own homes. Every woman can make a
difference by learning and using construction skills.

At Women Build events, volunteers work on a Habitat
build site in an environment where women can comfortably
learn new sills with their friends, peers and colleagues.
A construction site can be intimidating, but women who
might have shied away from volunteering on other
Habitat build sites typically step forward to learn new
skills on a Women Build site. They are often excited to
take up the challenge of tangibly providing affordable
housing within their communities.

Local Habitat affiliates have noticed an increased number of female
crew leaders, many of whom began their construction
experience at a Women Build event. This encourages
even more women to get involved.
