ReStore Opportunities
Time and time again, our community has demonstrated its generosity through countless hours of volunteering. Through this collective effort put forth by volunteers and Habitat, families have been able to move into their very own homes – Thank You Volunteers!
ReStore aims to seek passionate individuals and organizations to join us in our fight against substandard housing in Dodge, Olmsted, Steele, Wabasha and Waseca counties.
Signing up to volunteer is easy, and we are very flexible with scheduling! Help support our mission by providing valuable funding to our programs. It’s retail with a mission!
No experience is necessary. Our staff will teach you what you need to know. ReStore is also a great opportunity for community service volunteers. All are welcome to volunteer and training is provided.
ReStore is a retail store that stocks new and gently used home decorating and home improvement products at a deep discount.
Cashier
Tasks include: Assisting customers with their purchases at the register and answering questions about sold items, hold items, and returns. Answering questions about item availability and item location in the store.
Donation Acceptance
This is physically demanding because it requires volunteers to help move items in all varieties of sizes. Tasks include: cleaning, organizing, packaging, and ticketing items. Put large items out on the sales floor.
Processing
Tasks include: Sorting and pricing items. Cleaning, packaging, organizing, and ticketing items.
Sales Floor
Tasks include: Putting out shopping carts full of small merchandise. Staging cabinet sets. Helping customers find specific items, answering questions about sold items, and cleaning/sweeping around the store.
Recycling/Demo
Tasks include: Taking apart metal items that the ReStore can’t sell. We recycle different metals, which brings money in return.
Truck Assistant
This is a physically demanding job. Tasks include: Going out for donation pick-ups. Unloading items from truck at the store. Lifting 50 pounds is required.
