Critical Home Repair
Everyone deserves to live safely and comfortably in their own home.
Habitat for Humanity wants to empower home owners to enhance the health, safety, and livability of their homes by partnering with Two Rivers Habitat for Humanity to complete critical home repairs and modifications. Our program helps low income homeowners with needed projects like roof repairs, handicap accessibility ramps, and more, to ensure a safe and healthy home, along with an affordable repayment plan.
In 2018-2020, Two Rivers Habitat will complete over 30 Critical Home Repair projects. This keeps affordable homes as part of our housing stock, and enables families to stay in their "forever homes." The average critical home repair costs 1/10 the price of a new home, making this a great investment in our communities.
Our housing stock is aging. About 24% of homes in our area were built before 1960.
Critical home repairs now ensure these homes provide decent shelter for this generation and more to come.
A private room at a nursing home in the Rochester area costs and average of $9,034 a month. Aging-in-place modification to your home, such as a wheelchair ramp, help you save by allowing you to live in your home longer.
A leaking roof is more than an inconvenience.
Water infiltration can cause mold issues, impacting your family's health. Water can also create structural damage over time, leading to more costly repairs in the future.
